i recently modified my /etc/fstab
folder so that a usb drive connected to my device is mounted at boot. however, the drive sporadically unmounts and remounts on occasion, which may or may not be solved by the solution i am asking for. however, the issue still stands that the drive i want mounted will not consistently be plugged in on boot, and needing to remount is a hassle as i connect to the device headlessly through ssh. i saw mention of a package named usbmount
but could not find anything on it. is there something that can do what other oses seem to do with guis? throughout my usage of ubuntu, debian, windows 7, 10, and 11, external drives have always automatically mounted. thoughts?
