By mounting using Label for Linux System disk from Disks util, fails to mount linux system
Steps to reproduce:
Change the name of Linux System HDD eg. from "linux" to"linux_s"
Then go to Disks utils, and change to be mounted by its Label
Then restart computer
Results the emergency prompt
While e2fsck recognizes the linux system disk (how?) by being the only one that is checking filesystem integrity,
later, linux system fails to recognize which disk is linux system.
This is very frustrating for a linux user.
- Hopefully, we are linuxers, and it can be fixed BUT
- So, when linux system or fstab process fails to mount or find a linux file system disk, why do not list all related connected media to the user and let him/her to choose which to be mounted as linux system, irrespectable of what says ftsab process?
eg.
No linux system disk found.please select which device you like to be mounted as linux system?
- sda, 2.sda2, 3.sdb etc.Do you want to change fstab in order to be mounted as default as linux system media?Yes/No
